1.
I went across the bridge to see How easily you'd forget me And oh the depth of misery For my soul but for my spirit peace The wine that caused my will to bend then dried and left my heart to fend will never again pass my lips and weaken them against your kiss And it hurts but it doesn't It hurts but it doesn't And I thought that it would be the worst but it wasn't And I know that I love you I know that I love you But I'm learning that my love is so high above you What at first was my heavy regret Has resolved into a needed rest And the further that I go from you The closer I am to the truth One day I hope you see me high Boy then you'll wish that you could fly Cause it ain't easy being in love No, it's the truth that proves too much
2.
You're a simple man, I know But you held me by the soul And I sent you off although I was in love with you I was in love with you You're a blinded fool, I see Still I want you to see me Be the gaze you choose to keep I was in love with you I was in love with you Heart in the center of A wheel spinning towards the edge All I know falling in A pit that never sees its end
3.
Oh Ezra 04:16
Even though you're further from me I do love you still I cannot begin to reason All my sorrowed fill Oh Ezra I'm sorry I wouldn't believe you They kept me from seeing your light Oh Ezra I'm sorry I couldn't perceive you Were standing in the light I've been waiting for the answers Seems my whole life long No one offers me their comfort Every tear brands me with wrong Won't you come for me? Ezra, now I see Now I seek you in the morning When the stars still gleam I look for your eyes In the sunrise But I must meet you in my dreams
4.
Always Wait 04:58
Sometimes I think you might love me Then I think twice And then I think about how it's Not very nice How you make me wait for you How you make me wait And then I cry myself silly Or till I drown Watching you with some spellbound honey You always have around You always make me wait for you You always make me wait for you And I'm gonna tell you one day Oh, don't you come around here I'm gonna tell you one day But one day You just might ask me to stay So baby I will always wait for you I hope you wonder about me I hope you see That of all the hearts you've been breaking It's always been me But you make me wait for you You always make me wait and wait for you...

about

Nina de Freitas is a singer-songwriter currently residing in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Born in Brazil to musician parents, Nina wrote her first song at age five and hasn’t stopped since.

Nina has previously collaborated with several artists, the most recognizable of which are her father, Academy Award nominee Carlinhos Brown, and Slow Magic. After years of false starts, heartaches, and frustrations, Nina is finally releasing her debut EP for all to hear. Within is a collection of torch songs that echo a musical upbringing rich in diversity that includes artists from Jeff Buckley to Nina Simone and Radiohead to Neil Young.

Spinning Towards The Edge showcases Nina’s strong songwriting ability, and penchant for crafting luxurious melodies and musical textures. But above all, it shines a spotlight on her voice that blankets and envelops listeners in a velvet-like sheet of yearning and warmth.
